Your Views on the Need for Access to Emotional and Psychological Support

16 February 2018

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Muscular Dystrophy UK’s (MDUK) new inquiry will cover a broad range of topics, including the current availability of appropriate psychological support, palliative care and the required support around any future newborn screening programmes.

The inquiry is seeking written testimonies about psychological support provision from people with muscle-wasting conditions and families, health professionals, professional bodies, voluntary organisations and key decision-makers.

Written testimonies should be emailed by Friday 27th April, to:

Jonathan Kingsley
Parliamentary and Policy Manager
020 7803 4839
Muscular Dystrophy UK, 61A Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0BU

There will be three evidence sessions in Parliament, starting with a patient perspective session on Wednesday 21st February from 1pm to 3pm. If you want to attend, please contact Jonathan on the above details.

The final report will be launched in June/July (date tbc), and MDUK and other groups will then be aiming to ensure that the required action is taken by Government, NHS England and other bodies identified in the report’s recommendations.
