Our history of funding research

As of 2017, our funding contribution to research-related projects made possible by our supporters and donors since we started in 1986, totals £981,976, just £18,024 away from £1 million!

Since 2011, our research-related funding has focused on:

  • supporting the UK SMA Patient Registry
  • providing the SMA Community with up-to-date information authored by our Scientific and Clinical Care Research Correspondents
  • active membership of SMA Europe (membership fee from 2017)
